The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Management Assistant to join Robert Walters as a Consultant on a permanent basis in London. As a Consultant, you will be deployed on assignment with one of our clients, a leading US investment bank. In return, we will provide ongoing training, professional support, and the opportunity to develop your skills throughout your career.
You will join our client's IEG Implementation team, working closely with Portfolio Managers to provide portfolio management support across a broad range of global and international investment strategies.
As a centralised resource within the International Equities Team, you will play a key role in operational portfolio management activities. These include managing portfolio exposures and cash flows across multiple fund types and domiciles, supporting order construction, and liaising with core operational functions such as FX and Guideline Management Control.

The team also acts as a key representative of Portfolio Management, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including Product, Client Onboarding, Business Management, Client Account Management, Operations, and Technology.
What you'll do
- Manage client-driven orders from instruction through to completion, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Construct and implement equity and equity derivative orders in line with portfolio requirements.
- Perform pre-trade guideline checks and maintain adherence to risk and control procedures.
- Monitor portfolio exposures, cash balances and open orders across multiple funds and domiciles.
- Liaise with internal teams including Operations, FX, Guideline Management and Technology to resolve operational queries.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Product, Client Onboarding, Client Account Management and Business Management.
What you bring
- Experience in trade order construction and implementation, or a similar markets or trading support role.
- Experience of equities.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret portfolio, cash and trading data.
- Excellent attention to detail with a disciplined approach to risk, governance and controls.
- Quick learner, strong team player able to prioritise, stay organised, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in financial markets and investing.
- Experience with VBA and Python would be highly advantageous.
