Portfolio Management Associate – Energy & Infrastructure Finance
We are looking for a motivated and analytical Portfolio Management Associate to join the Energy & Infrastructure Group (EIG) in London. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management and Operational Support, you will support the management of a portfolio of over 100 Project Finance and Corporate Finance transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
This role is ideal for a professional with experience in Project Finance portfolio management, credit analysis, or deal execution who is looking to further develop their expertise within a leading international banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
- Manage and monitor a designated portfolio of Project Finance and Corporate Finance transactions.
- Prepare annual reviews, credit assessments, and waiver requests.
- Monitor borrower performance and financing covenant compliance.
- Liaise with borrowers, facility agents, advisors, and other external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Risk teams and Head Office on all credit-related matters.
- Ensure all allocated transactions remain compliant with KYC and internal certification requirements.
- Maintain and update internal systems and portfolio databases.
- Provide sector teams with relevant portfolio and transaction information.
- Support the training and development of junior team members where required.

Credit & Financial Analysis
- Analyse financial, operational, and project performance information.
- Review and interpret Project Finance documentation.
- Identify and escalate emerging credit risks.
- Run sensitivities and perform analysis on complex Project Finance financial models.
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policies and procedures.
- Support Financial Crime prevention, AML, and Fraud risk management requirements.
- Complete all mandatory training and maintain appropriate professional knowledge and competence.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in:
- Project Finance Portfolio Management;
- Project Finance Credit Analysis;
- Project Finance Deal Execution;
- A Banking Credit function with Project Finance exposure.
- Strong understanding of Project Finance structures and documentation.
- Experience preparing annual reviews and waiver requests.
- Financial modelling skills, including the ability to run sensitivities and analyse complex Project Finance models.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable
- MBA, ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience within the Energy and Infrastructure sectors.
