Portfolio Manager – DFM/IFA Focus

About Cazenove Capital

At Cazenove Capital, a wealth management business of the FTSE-listed Schroders, we convene private individuals, families, and charities to help them invest for their goals, ambitions, and future legacies.

About Schroders, Our Parent Company

As a global investment manager with over 200 years of experience, we employ 6,000+ colleagues across six continents. Our commitment remains steadfast—to driving prosperity for clients and societal growth through pragmatic investment management.

The Base

Edinburgh’s heart, Charlotte Square, serves as our operational hub.

The Team

  • Investment, wealth planning, lending
  • Family office expertise
  • Capitalising on Schroders’ internal and global network

Key Responsibilities

Daily Portfolio Oversight (DFM/IFA Service Model)

  • Assume responsibility for discretionary IFAs’ portfolios under senior supervision (gradient of ownership escalation).
  • Build and cultivate mutually beneficial IFA relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and transparent confidence-building meetings.
  • Engage with IFAs and end clients to articulate portfolio strategies—positioning, performance risks, and investment rationale.
  • Implement rebalancing, cash management, and mandate amendments align with predefined client objectives, suitability guidelines, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor broader market trends and technical securities exposure (ITA policies permitting).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
