Job Description
As the Portfolio Manager, you’ll lead the charge on high-impact projects, driving bids, delivery, and innovation across product development, new capabilities. You’ll be the connector between teams and leadership, bringing sharp business insight, strong communication, and a flexible, solutions-focused mindset to make big outcomes happen.
Core Duties
- You will be accountable for delivery of projects/portfolios and results of the team, whilst managing a multi-functional team
- This role will require you to work with Business Development and Engineering, you will help identify and develop new business opportunities as well as follow on business opportunities
- Ensure you financially plan and achieve business financial objectives for orders, sales, gross margin and cash
- You will be responsible for ensuring that accurate forward load data is derived for projects from the business toolsets

Essential Skills
- Experience in building customer relationships and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction
- Experience in managing risks and opportunities to the benefit of the programme
- Experience working as a Project/Portfolio/Programme Manager on complex projects/portfolios with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices) ideally from a comparable industry (Defence/Manufacturing/Engineering sector)
- Able to resolve project/portfolio/programme related problems that do not have routine solutions
The Warheads Team
Within the AWMS (Advance weapons and munitions support) team, support development and qualification of new warhead products. Engage customers and lead bidding and delivery of production contracts to international defence customers, including MOD and industry, ensuring successful programme execution and stakeholder alignment.
