About the role
As Portfolio Operations Manager, you will sit within the Portfolio function, working closely with the Head of Portfolio to ensure our Delivery and Engagement teams have the processes, tools and operational support they need to deliver consistently.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of operational processes, governance and reporting across the portfolio. You will oversee the day-to-day management of our Delivery Coordinator team, maintain the systems and assets that underpin successful delivery, and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively. Your work will help create a consistent experience for both our customers and consultants by ensuring the function runs smoothly, efficiently and reliably.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational execution of the Portfolio function, ensuring governance processes are followed consistently and quality standards are maintained across the Delivery and Engagement teams.
- Support customer mobilisations by coordinating operational activities and identifying relationship or delivery risks early, helping projects get off to a strong start.
- Deliver high-quality administration of Statements of Work and associated commercial documentation, maintaining accuracy while monitoring key operational measures such as margins and processing times.
- Maintain accurate portfolio reporting and governance data, ensuring reporting cycles are completed on time and provide meaningful insight into portfolio health.
- Manage Delivery Coordinator capacity, balancing workloads, identifying resourcing pressures before they become issues, and supporting the team's ongoing effectiveness.
- Oversee the onboarding of new Delivery Coordinators, ensuring they quickly become confident in the team's processes, tooling and ways of working.
- Implement and maintain operational processes, continually ensuring they remain practical, consistent and fit for purpose.
- Drive adoption of agreed operational tools across the Delivery and Engagement function by supporting users, resolving day-to-day issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Execute and maintain operational automations, ensuring scheduled workflows run reliably, issues are identified promptly and outputs remain accurate.
- Maintain operational templates, guides and knowledge libraries, ensuring documentation remains organised, current and aligned with ISO-9001 standards.
- Contribute operational insight to governance improvements, product initiatives, AI developments and wider business projects, providing practical feedback based on day-to-day experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
