Portfolio Planning Specialist – SAP, AI & Enterprise Technology (Contract – Inside IR35)
Location: Bristol / London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Rate: £450–500 per day (Inside IR35)
End Client: BT (British Telecom)
Contract: 12 Months
We're hiring a Portfolio Planning Specialist to support a major enterprise technology portfolio for BT, covering incoming SAP, AI, and enterprise technology projects. This role owns the intake, sequencing, planning, and capacity view for new demand — ensuring projects are properly assessed, realistically planned, and aligned to delivery capacity, funding windows, dependencies, and business priorities.
You'll work closely with portfolio leads, delivery managers, architects, Finance stakeholders, product teams, vendors, and PMO teams to build an integrated forward plan for incoming work.

What You'll Deliver
- Manage intake and planning for new SAP, AI, Finance Technology, and enterprise technology demand
- Assess project readiness — scope clarity, funding status, resourcing, dependencies, risks, and timelines — before projects enter delivery
- Maintain forward-looking capacity views across architects, SAP specialists, delivery leads, BAs, PMO, testing, data, security, and vendor teams
- Build and maintain an integrated roadmap showing sequencing, milestones, resource constraints, and delivery windows
- Support prioritisation by weighing business value, urgency, capacity, risk, and dependency impact
- Flag planning conflicts early and propose resequencing, resourcing, or phasing options
Must Have
- Proven experience in planning, portfolio planning, resource planning, demand management, capacity planning, or project controls within technology/transformation environments
- Strong skills in building integrated plans, roadmaps, milestone views, dependency maps, and capacity forecasts
- Experience managing project intake, prioritisation inputs, resourcing assumptions, and delivery sequencing
- Ability to work confidently across portfolio leads, PMs, architects, Finance, product owners, vendors, and PMO
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills

Good to Have
- Understanding of CAPEX/OPEX planning, funding gates, benefits cases, Agile planning, or SAP Activate
- Experience with SAP, ERP, AI, Finance Technology, or enterprise transformation portfolios
- Familiarity with MS Project, Excel, Power BI, Planview, Clarity, Jira, or Azure DevOps
