Job Description

Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA

Salary: Grade 11 - £39,939 - £42,699 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (pay award pending)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Secondment (internal candidates) or Fixed Term (for external candidates) - 12 month contract

Closing Date: 23rd July 2026

Could you support and challenge our contracted providers to improve the quality of support to people with behaviour of concern?

Could you work with individuals who have behaviour of concern to help them improve their outcomes and quality of life.

The successful candidate will provide specialist support and advice to providers about Positive Behaviour Support.

About The Role

We are looking for a temporary, full-time, Positive Behaviour Support Worker to join our team, whose role is to:

  • Build a good working relationship with providers
  • Support providers to improve practice and performance
  • Promote best practice in relation to positive behaviour support
  • Provide a service focused on delivering innovative solutions
  • Support providers to achieve positive outcomes for people with behaviour of concern
  • Address the risk to each individual and other people using the service and support the provider to implement strategies to reduce risk
  • Reduce the use of restrictive practice.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Relevant degree/professional qualification or an equivalent level of relevant experience
  • Experience of implementing Positive Behaviour Support in a social care setting. Including using the Positive Behaviour Support competence framework, implementing this into services and embedding the approach.
  • Delivering learning and development within a complex organisation and specifically within the social care sector
  • Understanding of safeguarding people at risk of harm and the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to use data and balance risk to provide clear recommendations and evidence-based decisions and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills including written and oral and the ability to communicate in an appropriate way to suit the audience.
  • Sustains and develops collaborative relationships with partners, whether internal or external, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed. Ensuring outcomes are met and continually improved for the people of Leicestershire. Ability to recognise good performance and address poor performance with provider by working collaboratively with providers and using their knowledge and expertise to develop an outcome-based solution.
