Positive Behaviour Support Worker
Positive Behaviour Support Worker (Complex Care)
Salary & Type:
- £14.06 per hour (£27,500 per annum)
- Temporary (3-month fixed-term contract with possibility for extension)
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Location: Ashford, Kent

Who You’ll Support:
- A non-verbal gentleman with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
- Uses:
- Makaton signs (e.g., "yes"/"thank you")
- Object of reference communication
- Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
- Responds well to humour (e.g., falls, tickles, funny voices)
About the Role
Join our Transforming Care team, helping our customer live a fulfilling life at home in the Ashford community. Your days could include:
- Accompanying our customer on garden-visits and excursions
- Engaging in community drives and walks
- Supporting physical activities together
What You’ll Do
- Person-centred care: Prioritise the customer’s daily living, personal care, and choices
- Collaborate with team/clinicians/family to create and follow support plans
- Promote independence, social inclusion, and well-being using a Positive Behaviour Support model
- Recognise subtle changes in health/mood, respond rapidly, and ensure safety
- Encourage step-by-step progress, honouring the customer’s pace and aspirations

Requirements
- Experience in complex care (e.g., Level 2 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care, or commitment to work towards it)
- Track record as a Support Worker for people with complex needs/logistical behaviours
- Person-centred approach: Ability to adapt support to each individual’s uniqueness
- Experience with: managing risks while honouring freedom of choice
- Makaton experience (not critical)
