Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join the group of Professor Bernardes at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge to work on a 12-month contract to investigate modulating the activity of therapeutic proteins, using methods recently developed in the group.

Project Description

The project aims to broaden the scope of proteins targets for a novel masking platform. The desired applicant will have a strong background in synthetic chemistry and protein bioconjugation techniques. They will need to be confident in purifying and characterising proteins and relevant bioconjugates, including the use of Biolayer interferometry to assess protein binding activity.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in chemical biology. They will be highly motivated and able to work independently. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are required to ensure success in liaising with a large and diverse research team.
