Post Office Counter Clerk – TGJones (formerly WHSmith Post Office)

Location: Various (Saturday role, 8-hour shifts)

Wages: UK age-related minimum/living wage rates – pay varies by age group:
- 18–20: £10.85 per hour
- 21+: £12.71 per hour
Key Requirements:
- Must be over 18
- Must complete a safeguarding check

- Practical Skills
- Systems
- Note: Training may take place at a different location – flexibility required!

- Delivering exceptional customer service to all customers
- Efficiently managing queues and ensuring quick, accessible service delivery
- Adhering to high governance standards with meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team and supporting colleagues
- Executing safe and professional handling of cash, post, and retail transactions
Responsibilities
- Providing proactive, courteous, and consistent help to customers
- Processing and issuing postage, payments, cheques, and banking services
- Assisting customers with purchase of high-street essentials (stationery, tickets, etc.)
- Handling cash transactions and ensuring secure compliance with cash handling protocols
- Supporting the efficient operation of the service desk
