About the Role
The role of an Edit Assistant within Sky Post Production (SPP) at Sky involves managing content from acquisition through to delivery. You will thrive in a fast-paced Post Production environment, ensuring seamless workflow execution while handling complex technical details. Responsibilities span project delivery, workflow optimisation, and department management, maintaining high standards and meeting all deadlines.

What You’ll Do

Drive Edit Operations Provide hands-on support across post-production, adding value from the outset of projects.

Lead the Production Lifecycle Assist editors from pre-production, during shoot, and post-production, optimising workflows and ensuring timely delivery.

Master Complex Media Manage high-profile sports and entertainment projects, with confidence tackling difficult, large-scale files under pressure.

Technical Execution Demonstrate fluency in HD, UHD (4K), and HDR workflows, applying technical expertise across all tasks.

Workflow Optimisation Apply deep knowledge of modern post-production pipelines to enhance efficiency and evolve processes continuously.

Technical Deliverables Expertly create AAFs (Avid Audio Interchange Format) and EDLs (Edit Decision Lists) for the audio team, including mastering conforms and dynamic relinking.

Editor Support Offer expert first-line support to editors and production staff, leveraging problem-solving skills to address challenges swiftly.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Criteria

Proven Experience Strong hands-on experience as an Edit Assistant in a fast-paced post-production or broadcast environment.

Software Mastery Advanced proficiency in Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere, with added experience using Baselight for colour workflows.
-
System Knowledge Technical cognisance of Nexis, Interplay, and modern media management systems.
-
Technical Fluency Robust understanding of current video standards, codecs, and cloud-integrated workflows (e.g.,uqHD/8K, HDR, compressed workflows).

Communication & Collaboration Excellent oral and written communication skills, combined with a proactive, collaborative “yes-can-do” mindset.
