Postal Delivery Driver
Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) – 9-Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Winton Delivery Office, BH11 8JP
The Role
Join Royal Mail as a Postie—the face of our trusted service—delivering letters and parcels in Winton. You’ll work a rotating shift schedule (including weekends), sorting mail, driving the iconic red van, and expanding relationships with local customers. Full training and a uniform are provided!
Key Responsibilities
- Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
- Deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot in your local area
- Drive daily in a Royal Mail-fitted vehicle
- Walk up to 12 miles per day (20,000+ steps) and navigate outdoor routes
- Build customer relationships, handling busy, fast-paced deliveries
- Work in all weather conditions while meeting on-time deadlines

What You’ll Experience
- Physical and dynamic work: Rotating shifts, outdoor labor, and high-volume deliveries
- Independence with structure—a balance of routine and varied routes
- Community engagement: Direct interaction with recipients includes postal ballots, election materials, and alcoholic/perishable products (handling strictly according to company standards).

About You

What we need: ✔ A full UK manual car licence (max. 6 penalty points; noting exact driving history via DVLA check). ✔ Fit, confident, and eager to carry mailbags (10kg+ limit). ✔ Singular: Fanatic about deliveries on time, silent or otherwise. ✔ Satisfied with:
- Rounding states alone or with just-in-time route multiplications daily.
- Prioritising security while learning election logistics.
