Royal Mail Delivery Driver (Postie) – Bromsgrove Fixed Term Contract (9 months) – £13.68/hour + Overtime | Full Training Provided


Location & Contract

Delivery Office: Royal Mail, Bromsgrove, B60 3BG Contract: Fixed Term (9-month contract) Working Hours: 30 hours/week (5 days in 7, including weekends) Schedule: Rotating shifts (06:54–14:36) + Sundays at Redditch Delivery Office (08:30–14:36)


About the Role: The Face of Royal Mail

Become a Postal Delivery Driver ('Postie') at Royal Mail, connecting your community by delivering letters, parcels, and moments that matter. Whether it’s exam results, birthday cards, or business orders, your role ensures what’s sent gets delivered—on foot, by van, and in all weathers.

Watch your routes vary with local demand while building relationships in your community. A physically demanding yet rewarding role for those who love structure, variety, and staying active outdoors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and prioritise letters/parcels at Bromsgrove Delivery Office
  • Drive a Royal Mail van daily and deliver on foot across your assigned route
  • Handle long distances (up to 12 miles/day, 20,000+ steps) per working day
  • Work in all weather conditions—rain, snow, or shine!
  • Build trust with customers by delivering timely, reliable service
  • Manage election materials and restricted items (food/alcohol) under business standards

About You: Our Ideal Postie

Royal Mail will provide training, uniform, and a red van—but you’ll bring the following:

Requirements

🚗 Valid full manual UK driving licence (≤6 penalty points, registered to current name/address) 👟 Physically fit for long walks (12+ miles/day), hills, and lifting up to 25kg (e.g., mailbags, parcels) ⏰ Reliable & adaptable to a rotating shift pattern (06:54 start on rotations) 📦 Customer-focused with a pride in delivering exceptional service

Additional Notes
