Postal Delivery Driver

Delivery Driver – Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) – Antrim (BT41 2RU)

Permanent Contract • £13.68/hour + overtime available

Location: Antrim Delivery Office, BT41 2RU Working Hours: 30 hours per week (5 days in 7, Monday–Sunday) Working Times: 09:30–15:30 (shift schedule includes weekends)


About the Role

Be the face of Royal Mail in Antrim by driving and delivering letters and parcels while staying active and connected to your community. This physically demanding yet rewarding role offers great benefits and routine while delivering the moments that matter every day.


What You’ll Do

  • Sort and prepare letters and parcels at the delivery office
  • Drive and deliver post by van and on foot across your allocated route
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Work outdoors, day and night, in all weather conditions

What you’ll deliver: exam results, birthday cards, business parcels—moments you’ll know matter.

  • Walking long distances: up to 12 miles/day (20,000+ steps)
  • Daily driving (Royal Mail van)
  • All-weather duties
  • High delivery volumes, especially during peak periods
  • Time-sensitive deliveries

Shift work: You may be required to work on Sundays in line with your rota.


About You

We’ll provide training, uniform, and an iconic red van, but you’ll need:

✅ Full manual UK driver’s licence (max 6 penalty points, registered to your current name/address) ✅ Fitness to drive daily with a pass in a Royal Mail van driving assessment

✅ Physically able to:

  • Walk long distances daily
  • Navigate inclines/stairs
  • Lift and carry mailbags (up to 10kg+)

✅ Strong attributes: ⚡ Reliable & self-motivated ⚡ Good organisation & resilience in a busy environment ⚡ Customer-focused with pride in service

⚡ Outdoor/alone work preferred (no dependency on colleagues).
