Royal Mail – Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) – Dungannon

📍 Location: Dungannon Delivery Office, BT70 1AA 🕒 Job Type: Permanent contract 💰 Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available 🕒 Working Hours: 35 hours per week – 5 days in 6 (Monday–Saturday, 08:00–16:30*)

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes (subject to demand).


What You’ll Do

  • Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
  • Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Work outdoors in all weathers

More than just mail—you’ll deliver exam results, birthday cards, business orders, key moments and much more. It’s demanding, but it’s always rewarding.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

  • Walking long distances (up to 12 miles/day or 20,000+ steps)
  • Driving a Royal Mail van daily
  • Operating in all weather conditions
  • Delivering high volumes of letters and parcels
  • Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and a red van. To qualify, you’ll need:

✔ A full manual UK driving licence (≤6 penalty points, registered to your current name & address) ✔ Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment ✔ Good physical fitness—capable of walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ parcel bags ✔ Reliable, self-motivated, and organised ✔ Customer-focused with pride in delivering a great service ✔ Comfortable working outdoors and independently
