Royal Mail – Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) Fixed Term Contract (9 months) | Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 1AA

- Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (9 months)
- Working Hours: 30 hours per week (5 days across Monday–Sunday), shift pattern including weekends
- Shift Timings: 08:30 or 14:30
Role Summary
Become the face of Royal Mail as a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Sutton in Ashfield. Your daily tasks will include:
- No CV needed – apply in minutes with an online test followed by an interview
- Active role with community connections and industry-leading benefits
- Proudly deliver mail, parcels, and meaningful items (e.g., exam results, greetings cards) across 12+ miles daily
- Rotating roster with weekend shifts (Sundays at the delivery office mandatory)
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and dispatch letters and parcels efficiently at the delivery office
- Drive a Royal Mail van and deliver on foot in your local delivery area
- Build rapport with customers while upholding Royal Mail’s trusted service standards
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions—prepared for physical demands

About You
Royal Mail provides comprehensive training, uniforms, and a red Royal Mail van. To qualify, you must:
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence (≤6 penalty points) also* registered to your current name and address*
- Agree to daily van driving and pass a Royal Mail driving assessment
- Be physically fit and comfortable with:
- Long-distance walking, climbing stairs/hills
- Handling deliveries of 10kg+ mailbags
- Demonstrate relability, self-motivation, and strong time management
- Deliver high-quality customer service with a customer-focused mindset
- Work effectively independently and outdoors in varied conditions
