Role Description
This is a temporary, on-site Postdoctoral Research Associate role based in Nottingham. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct high-quality research under the supervision of senior academic staff, including designing experiments or studies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results. The role also involves maintaining accurate research records, adhering to ethical and regulatory requirements, and supporting the broader research team, including mentoring junior researchers or students when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Completed or near-completion of a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, with a strong research focus aligned to the hosting department’s priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to design and conduct rigorous research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation, using appropriate qualitative or quantitative methods.
- Proven track record, or clear potential, for publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at academic conferences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare research reports, manuscripts, and grant applications.
- Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and the ability to contribute to a supportive and inclusive research environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to research integrity, ethical standards, and compliance with relevant regulatory and health and safety requirements.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring students or junior colleagues is advantageous, as is familiarity with university-based teaching or outreach activities.
