Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join the group of Prof. Alexander Forse at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge.
Essential requirement:
- Candidates must have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

Project Description:
This project is part of an ERC starting grant (funded by UKRI) which seeks to understand and improve supercapacitor devices for energy storage, with a focus on using solid-state NMR techniques to gain structural insights. Research more generally in the Forse group centers around the development of new materials for climate change mitigation.
The project focus is on carrying out solid-state NMR experiments to study electrode materials structure and energy storage mechanisms in porous carbon materials. The selected candidate would also take on responsibilities in managing solid-state NMR equipment in the Forse group, and would help with training team members in NMR techniques.

The successful applicant will benefit from access to 400 and 600 MHz NMR spectrometers (Bruker), potentiostats for electrochemistry measurements, gas sorption instruments, and diffraction resources, as required for this project.
