About the Role
The post-holder will play a pivotal role in conducting quantitative analyses for the project titled “Impact Evaluation of Virtual Wards”, funded by NHS England. This project represents a collaborative effort between academics at City, St George’s University of London, and Health Integration Partners (HIP), a healthcare consultancy firm. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Navid Izady, Dr. Victoria Serra-Sastre, and Dr. Jack Fosten, and collaborate closely with consultants and clinicians at HIP.

The successful candidate will support a high-profile healthcare research project by analysing linked NHS datasets, applying advanced statistical and economic evaluation methods, and contributing to the development of simulation models to assess the impact of virtual wards on patient outcomes and healthcare systems. The role also involves engaging with stakeholders, disseminating findings through reports and presentations, and helping to develop practical toolkits to support the wider adoption of project methodologies.
Requirements
- PhD (completed or near completion) in a quantitative discipline
- Experience analysing large datasets using advanced statistical methods
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Experience working with NHS datasets, simulation modelling, or economic evaluation would be an advantage.
Contract and Funding
This post is offered on a permanent contract, reflecting the University’s commitment to providing greater stability for research staff. The role is funded through external research funding until 31 August 2027. Continued employment in this role will therefore be subject to the continuation or replacement of funding.
