Royal Mail Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) – Girvan, Fixed Term (9 months)

Girvan Delivery Office, KA26 9DF


Role Overview

  • Job type: Fixed-term contract (9 months)
  • Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available
  • Hours: 30 hours per week – rotating shifts (5 days in 7, including weekends), 10:20 to 16:30*
  • Existing Requirements:
    • Full manual UK driving licence (≤6 penalty points, registered to current name/address)
    • Comfortable driving Royal Mail vans and handling up to 10kg+ mailbags
    • Physically fit for up to 12 miles walking and climbing stairs/hills
    • Passion for an active, outdoors role with diverse customer interactions

Ideal as the face of a trusted service, delivering key items—exam results, birthday cards, parcels, and more.


Responsibilities

Core Tasks:

  • Sort and distribute letters/parcels at Girvan’s delivery office
  • Deliver mail by van and on foot in your local neighbourhood
  • Forge strong customer relationships with clarity and pride
  • Work adaptably in all weather, prioritising routine alongside fast-paced demand
