Postperson with Driving
Royal Mail Delivery Driver (Postie) – Chesterfield
Location: Chesterfield Delivery Office, S40 1AA
Contract: Fixed-term (amend/delete if not applicable)
Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly), plus paid overtime available
Hours: 30 hours per week, working rotating days and Sundays (typically 13:30–19:30, Sundays 08:00–14:30).

About the Role
What You’ll Do
- Sort and distribute letters and parcels in your local area
- Deliver via van and on foot, building relationships with customers
- Work outdoors, prepared for all weathers
- Handle special items, including election materials, with professionalism

What to Expect
This fast-paced role demands strength and resilience:
- Daily-driving of a Royal Mail van (20,000+ steps or 12+ miles/day)
- High-volume deliveries, including parcels
- Adapting to weather and time-pressure demands
- Physically challenging—including carrying up to 10kg+ luggage
About You
We’ll provide uniform and intensive training—but you must supply:
✔ Full UK driving licence (max. 6 penalty points; updated to your current address/name) ✔ Ability to pass a Royal Mail van-driving assessment ✔ Strong fitness (ability to walk, climb, and lift heavy mailbags) ✔ Self-starter, organiser, and customer advocate ✔ Patience and resilience for demanding workdays
