Location: Morley Delivery Office, LS27 8TB
Role Summary
Looking for a delivery driver job where you can stay active, enjoy great benefits, and serve your community? Join Royal Mail as a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) and become the trusted face of their delivery service, handling letters and parcels in Leeds.
Role Type: Fixed Term Contract Hours: 30 hours per week (rotating shifts, including weekends) Pay: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + overtime available
What You’ll Do
In this physically demanding yet rewarding role, you will:
- Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
- Deliver post by van and on foot in your local areas
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Work outdoors in all weathers, remaining active and engaged

- Walking up to 12 miles per day (≈20,000+ steps)
- Driving a Royal Mail van daily on deliveries
- Working in varying weather conditions
- Handling high-volume letter and parcel delivery
- Busy, time-sensitivities tasks—particularly during peak periods
About You
Royal Mail will provide:
- Full training
- Uniform
- An iconic red delivery van
You must meet the following requirements:
- A full, valid UK driving license (❌ Max 6 penalty points) Registered to your current name and address.
- Willingness to pass a Royal Mail driving assessment
- Must be physically fit and comfortable:
- Walking long distances
- Climbing stairs/hills
- Lifting/carrying mailbags (+10kg)
- Reliable, self-motivated, and organised
- Customer-focused and proud of excellent service delivery
- Comfortable working outdoors and independently

All roles between 35-37 hours are listed as full-time, but exceptions under 37 hours will be classified as part-time.
