Power Academy Trainer (HV & LV Systems) - Senior Technical Trainer II

Role Overview

The Power Academy Trainer is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of technical training programmes related to Schneider Electric’s High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) equipment and solutions. This role supports the development of internal teams, partners, and customers by ensuring a high standard of technical competence, safety awareness, and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development

  • Design and develop structured training programmes covering Schneider Electric HV and LV equipment, including switchgear, protection systems, transformers, and distribution solutions
  • Create engaging training materials such as presentations, manuals, and practical workshop exercises
  • Liaise with Local and Global teams to ensure all content is aligned with current product updates, standards, and best practices
  • Continuously review and improve training materials based on feedback and evolving technologies

Training Delivery

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on technical training sessions to engineers, technicians, and customers at SE facilities and customer sites
  • Facilitate practical demonstrations and workshops using live or simulated HV/LV equipment
  • Adapt training delivery methods to suit varying audience skill levels and available equipment
  • Assess learner competency through exams, practical assessments, and feedback

Technical Expertise & Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Schneider Electric HV/LV products and solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification during and after training sessions
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations (e.g., IEC, BS/EN), and product developments
  • Support internal teams with technical knowledge when required

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain training environments and equipment to a safe and operational standard
  • Ensure all training activities are conducted in line with health and safety regulations
  • Promote safe working practices, particularly when working with HV systems

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience with Schneider Electric products
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging training
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple training programmes

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience working with HV and LV systems (operational, design, maintenance, or commissioning)
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations
  • Previous experience in a training, coaching, or instructional role (desirable)
  • Teaching/training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, L&D certification) (desirable)

Working Environment

  • Combination of classroom, workshop, and field-based training environments
  • Occasional travel to customer sites or training centres

For this UK based position, the expected pay range is GBP 65,600 - GBP 98,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United Kingdom. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
