Power Platform Support Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract)

About the Role
This vital role within the Power Platform Support team at LRQA offers a 12-month fixed-term contract, reporting directly to the Power Platform Lead.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of the Power Platform’s capabilities and genuine enthusiasm for its potential
- A commitment to high-quality development standards, governance, and collaborative ways of working
- Experience delivering solutions within an Agile environment and adhering to a clearly defined software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Developing and supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including citizen-developed Canvas apps and enterprise-level Dynamics Model-Driven applications
- Contributing to backlog delivery, enhancements, and technical improvements across LRQA
- Providing second-line support for business-critical applications, including incident triaging, root cause analysis, and sustainable fixes
- Supporting Change Management and ITIL processes while safeguarding platform stability, reliability, and compliance
- Acting as a key escalation point for both citizen development initiatives and enterprise applications, balancing innovation, enablement, and governance
- Collaborating with stakeholders—business users, IT teams, software vendors, and third-party suppliers—to ensure service-level resolutions
- Promoting Centre of Excellence (CoE) standards for Microsoft Power Platform, driving adoption of evolving features in a controlled, compliant manner
- Providing input on projects with Power Platform requirements and championing new technologies to deliver business value

Key Responsibilities (In-Depth)

Power Platform Expertise
- Work as a Power Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME), setting best-practice standards for design, build, test, and deployment of Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Dynamics 365 solutions
- Deliver complex or critical solutions, including Canvas apps and Model-Driven apps, while adhering to governance frameworks

Citizen Developer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support and upskill citizen developers in Power Platform standards and best practices
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technology solutions

SDLC & Operational Support
- Perform full SDLC activities, from requirements gathering to deployment, support, and continuous improvement
- Monitor and maintain existing applications, triage incidents, and manage service requests within ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)

Technical & Governance Leadership
- Work within security and architecture teams to ensure compliance
- Provide technical insight on platform direction, recommend operational improvements, and refine governance standards
- Be an agent for change, driving innovation and sustainability through technology adoption
Requirements
Technical/Professional Qualifications
- Experience
- At least 3 years working with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform
- Proven track record in Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) and Power Automate development, including Dataverse experience
- Practical experience with SharePoint, SQL, and databases/data repositories
- Experience with Dynamics 365, PowerShell, JavaScript, and JSON is desirable
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and multi-disciplinary team collaboration

- Skillset
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to source solutions and implement fixes
- ITIL expertise, particularly in Release, Deployment and Change Management
- Excellent stakeholder communication, with ability to engage, advise, and resolve challenges
- Self-motivated, can work with limited guidance to implement innovative solutions
- Strong ability to assess business requirements and convert them into effective technology solutions
