Power Systems Technical Delivery Manager/Owner

About the Role

You will lead and deliver a range of projects within the Power Systems team, bidding and winning work while supporting and training team members. This will include writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals, as well as maintaining client relationships. An ability and enthusiasm for direct client contact and business development is essential.

Core Responsibilities

Here are the types of work currently delivered within the Power Systems team:

  • Steady studies such as:
    • Load flow
    • Fault level and reactive compensation
    • Dynamic studies (frequency and voltage stability)
    • Harmonic analysis/power quality/filter design
    • Transient overvoltage and insulation coordination simulation studies (switching/lightning)
    • Control interaction studies
    • Earthing studies
    • Protection coordination and arc flash studies
    • Grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers

  • Delivering consulting work for power systems studies and analysis, with a focus on control interaction studies.
  • Providing technical and project management leadership to ensure the successful delivery of consulting projects.
  • Ensuring technical excellence in the delivery of power systems projects, reports, and proposals.
  • Building and maintaining key client relationships to position power systems services and secure future business.
  • Leading the development and delivery of project proposals, identifying opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Being the expert lead on power systems software packages, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, CDEGs, etc.

Key Requirements

To be successful, you should demonstrate:

  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems specialisation.
  • Proven experience in power systems consulting.
  • A strong network of industry contacts and clients.
  • Proactive, motivated, and focused on delivering high-quality work that exceeds customer requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, often managing multiple projects/proposals simultaneously.
