Powerhouse Control Room Operator. (Numan-Adamawa State)
Job Summary
The Powerhouse Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling steam turbine operations via the Distributed Control System (DCS). The role ensures stable and safe turbine operation, load management, efficiency optimization, and compliance with standard operating and safety procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate turbine systems through the DCS panel.
- Maintain turbine load, speed, pressure, and temperature parameters.
- Acknowledge and respond to alarms, trips, and deviations.
- Coordinate with field operators during start-up, shutdown, and maintenance.
- Record performance data, trends, and log shift activities.
- Adjust steam flow and valve settings to match load demand.
- Ensure synchronization and load sharing with the grid or internal systems.
- Comply with all SOPs, LOTO, and EHS procedures.
- Communicate with control room, shift engineer, and electrical teams as needed.
- Participate in tuning and reliability testing activities.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience
- Diploma or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Power Plant Technology.
- Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Certification in Turbine Operations or DCS Control preferred).
- Minimum 5–10 years in Powerhouse Control Room operation in cogeneration or thermal plants.
