Role description
At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Powertrain Validation Engineer to be based at our office, Warwick.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
Scope of Role
The position is based in the group T&V group which falls under Product Development division. Tata Technologies is looking for exceptional, self-driven experienced DVP Engineer who would be lead the progression of DVP within Body - Electrical - Powertrain – Chassis- Vehicle Engineering from Test & Validation point of view right away from Defining DV Plan to Delivery of the same through all planning, build and Validation phases until Homologation and certification stages.

Engineering Research & Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients globally.
Area of Responsibilities
- Creation of crisp DV plan which captures all required internal & legal targets
- Contributing towards Test Partners onboarding process by helping refine RFQs, RFQ response comparison
- Test and associated Vehicle plan optimisation
- Leading DVP generation and buy off the same with Test Houses – Lead Engineers – OEM
- Ensuring DVP is aligned to delivery dates and promising delivery glidepath is in place
- Drive the delivery of DVP and ensure correct status is cascaded to the team
- Facilitating Type Approval testing in accordance with EU and other markets legislation
- To prepare necessary documentation
- Give subject interpretation support to design and test engineers through consultation
- Responsible for System Type Approval for allocated subjects for all markets
- Negotiate 'worst case' scenarios with Authorities
- Liaise with Suppliers and agree upon the number of tests to be populated on Supplier decks
- Liaise with Product Assurance team for witness tests by providing any relevant data (e.g. CAE)
- Provide status and risks for the CoC’s / Test Owners in the weekly review meeting
- Collect relevant data to understand the problems and decide when to appropriately escalate issues
- Responsible for training new employees and upskilling current resource

Knowledge / Experience
- Expertise in Powertrain Testing is prerequisite
- Know how on RMDV required
- Experience in Vehicle Plan optimisation / Build Configuration / Build Matric optimisation / Fleet Optimisation required. (200+ cars)
- Broad understanding of regulation and testing requirements, relevant to vehicle type approval of passenger cars
- Excellent interpersonal skills for technical discussions with design, test off site labs and EU test authority engineers
- Experience of vehicle test / development.
- Understanding of Component level / System Level / Attribute Level tests
- Understand of legal tests for global market
