Why come to Dacorum?

Dacorum Borough Council is an ambitious and forward-thinking authority, committed to delivering high quality services for our residents and shaping sustainable growth across the borough.

Located within easy reach of the M1, M25 and A41, Dacorum offers a diverse mix of urban, rural, Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This creates a varied and interesting planning environment, with a strong pipeline of development activity and regeneration.

We are investing in our Development Management service as part of our ambition to improve performance, strengthen customer experience, and support high quality development. This is an exciting time to join and help shape how we deliver our services.

What is the opportunity?

This is a newly created role within our Development Management Team, focused on coordinating Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs) for large and complex development proposals.

As our PPA Coordinator, you will act as the central point of contact for projects, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the PPA process from pre-application through to decision and beyond.

You will work closely with planning officers, developers, agents and internal teams to:

  • Coordinate project timelines, milestones and key deliverables
  • Arrange and manage meetings with stakeholders
  • Track progress against agreed timetables and identify risks or delays
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and performance data
  • Support financial management of PPAs, including monitoring fees and invoicing
  • Provide clear and timely updates to stakeholders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Information for applicants on Local Government Reorganisation

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.

The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision-making closer to the communities we serve.

What This Means For You

If you join Dacorum Borough Council between now and 31 March 2028, you will move to a new organisation on 1 April 2028. Your role will transfer to the new authority, but the way you work and who you report to may change.

While this may be different from what you are used to, it is also a rare and exciting opportunity to join Dacorum at a time of real change.

You will have the chance to help shape the future of local services and be part of building something new.

The new unitary councils will create opportunities for innovation, growth, and better public services. They will offer a more joined-up and forward-looking working environment for employees.

We are committed to supporting our staff and continuing to deliver high-quality services for residents throughout this change. Together, we are building a better future.
