PPCA Secretariat Coordinator (Powering Past Coal Alliance)
Location: London
This London-based role will support the delivery of the PPCA Secretariat by coordinating events, steering committee and member engagement, and streamlining internal processes to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) is a coalition of over 180 members—including governments, financial institutions, utilities, and civil society organisations—advancing the transition from unabated coal power generation to clean energy.
Founded in 2017 by the United Kingdom and Canada, the PPCA now includes a third of the world’s countries, as well as key players from coal-dependent regions and major global utilities.
The PPCA Secretariat is hosted by E3G, an independent climate change think tank providing:
- Management and administrative support
- Strategic analysis and policy advice

The PPCA Secretariat Coordinator supports the Secretariat’s global work by coordinating events, member engagement, governance, and day-to-day operations in partnership with E3G’s leadership and teams.
Event & Team Coordination
- Lead preparation for key PPCA events, including:
- Agenda setting, timelines, and invitation logistics
- Venue/hotel coordination and delegate scheduling
- Support senior stakeholder engagements, including diplomats, business leaders, and media figures, with:
- Logistics support (travel, briefings, meeting agendas)
- Manage the PPCA contact database, calendar, and internal workflow to sustain seamless operations.
Membership & Governance Support
- Organise Steering Committee, Implementation Committee, and Member Meetings
- Maintain detailed records of member engagements and correspondence
- Collaborate with the communications team to track PPCA progress updates for stakeholders.
Internal Coordination & Admin
- Improve cross-team workflow and digital tools supporting hybrid and globalSecretariat collaboration.
- Assist in recruitment processes (applications, interviews, and communications).
- Draft internal documents and reports and support senior leadership on administrative tasks.
- Coordinate PPCA communications with E3G’s internal teams and external stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly motivated by E3G’s mission of accelerating a safe climate transition.
- Has several years of relevant professional experience, ideally in:
- Events management (prep, logistics, delegations)
- Policy or stakeholder coordination (government, business, civil society)
- Project administration (budgeting, timelines, reporting) (Prince 2 or similar experience is a plus but not essential)
- Excellсеs in written communication and has advanced spoken English.
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, resilience—ability to work well in a fast-paced, international team across multiple time zones.

Details
- Position Type: Permanent, full-time
- Work Style: Hybrid model (based in London with flexibility)
- Salary Range: £41,498 – £44,000 (dependent on experience)
- Vacation: 25 days + holiday leave between Christmas and New Year.
- Other Benefits: Pension contribution, annual review for progression
