Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing haulage business in Glasgow to recruit a Part-Qualified Financial Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful organisation operating in a fast-moving industry where finance plays a key role in supporting commercial performance. The business has built a strong reputation within the transport and logistics sector and is looking for an ambitious finance professional who is keen to continue developing their career in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This role will suit someone who enjoys producing accurate financial information, has a strong eye for detail, and is looking for a position that offers genuine exposure and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management and financial accounts.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist with the production of statutory accounts and support the annual external audit process.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC reporting requirements.
  • Support cash flow reporting and treasury activities.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and process asset additions, disposals and depreciation.
  • Produce financial reports and analysis to support business performance and operational decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting alongside the wider finance team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Build strong working relationships with operational departments to provide financial support and insight.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA with a clear commitment to completing your professional qualification.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience within transport, logistics, manufacturing or another operational business would be beneficial but is not essential.
