Public Relations Account Manager

As an integrated Account Manager at Canoe you’ll lead a set of client accounts and shape how their brands show up in the world. You’ll use a mix of media relations, press materials, product placement, talent management plus social activity to build reputation, support sales and drive meaningful coverage. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues, manage junior staff and act as a steady partner to clients day to day. You will bring a genuine interest in the sectors our clients work in and understand what drives their audiences.

The day to day

  • Manage and support a portfolio of client PR accounts
  • Offer counsel and ideas that strengthen traditional PR and broader talent activations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, key media, agents and talent
  • Pitch stories, spokespeople and products to journalists across print, digital and broadcast
  • Handle press enquiries and keep clients updated on campaign progress
  • Produce and interpret coverage reports and share insight with stakeholders
  • Contribute ideas that improve team workflow and campaign delivery

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for core media and client teams
  • Plan and deliver communications campaigns with clear angles, stories and measurable outcomes
  • Maintain a current view of trends, platforms and tools relevant to your accounts
  • Lead traditional and social-first PR activity as appropriate
  • Support new business by shaping proposals and contributing to pitches
  • Mentor junior colleagues and ensure work aligns with agency standards
  • Use project management and financial processes accurately and consistently
