A leading independent strategic communications consultancy is seeking a Health & Life Sciences Director to join its growing London team.

This is an opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a dynamic, entrepreneurial agency that partners with high-profile organisations across healthcare, biotech, pharmaceuticals and beyond. The firm is known for delivering integrated corporate communications, crisis advisory and public affairs campaigns at the highest level.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and expanding the Health & Life Sciences practice, advising senior stakeholders on complex reputational, regulatory and business-critical challenges. This position combines strategic client counsel, team leadership and business development, making it ideal for someone looking to shape and grow a practice within an ambitious consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic communications programmes for clients across pharma, biotech, medtech and healthcare
  • Advise senior stakeholders on reputation, positioning, issues management and crisis preparedness
  • Build and maintain long-term, senior client relationships
  • Drive new business growth, including networking, pitches, proposals and fee negotiations
  • Collaborate with public affairs specialists on policy and regulatory engagement
  • Lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Deliver integrated, insight-led campaigns in complex and regulated environments
  • Maintain and leverage a strong network of media and sector contacts

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years’ experience in health & life sciences communications, within an agency
  • Strong understanding of the scientific, regulatory and reputational landscape
  • Proven experience advising senior clients in high-stakes environments
  • Demonstrated success in business development and account growth
  • Established network across media and/or policy within the sector
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
