PR & Events Manager
PR & Events Manager – Consumer PR Team (P permanent, 37.5 hrs, Watford)
About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, self-motivated PR & Events Manager to join our Consumer PR team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead our PR strategy across products, critics, and external media while crafting high-impact events that highlight Majestic’s industry-leading expertise, wine range, and unique culture.
As a core voice of Majestic, your mission will be to champion our people, products, strategy, and culture through:
- Press releases
- Influencer partnerships
- Wine reviews
- Awards submissions
- External media campaigns
Reporting directly to the Head of Content, Brand & Consumer PR, this role requires collaboration between Buying, Marketing, Content, Social Media, and wider PR teams, along with external agencies and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and manage PR & Events strategies with the Head of Brand and Content, aligning initiatives with business goals while staying ahead of industry trends and creative trends.
- Own the relationship with external PR agencies, providing strategic direction, campaign guidance, and reporting.

Media & Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers as the primary company contact.
- Persuade independent wine critics and trade press with high credibility and authority.

Campaign Execution
- Plan and execute PR campaigns aligned with marketing KPIs, including regular reviews to refine tactics.
- Own a vibrant mix of consumer-facing events—tastings, awards submissions, sponsored industry partnerships, and wine sponsorships.

Events & Industry Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and execute bi-annual press tastings, wine submissions for awards, and other strategic industry events.
- Negotiate with influencers, managing sample sends (unpaid), contracts, rates, and AV content briefs.

Metrics & Reporting
- Establish, monitor, and analyze PR KPIs, reporting detailed insights to senior leadership.
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
✔ WSET Level 3 (or higher – preferred) ✔ Proven ability to design and lead high-impact PR campaigns in retail, luxury, or FMCG industries ✔ Mature understanding of wine, beer, and spirits, with passion for Majestic’s range ✔ Critical knowledge of digital media, social platforms, and traditional press

✔ Exceptional communicator with public speaking confidence ✔ Strong leadership and team management ✔ Charity for detail, organization, and project management under pressure ✔ Creative problem-solver with strategic thinking ✔ Personable, proactive, and relationship-focused
