PR & Communications Expert – "Hope on a Plate: Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy"
About the Initiative
"HOPE ON A PLATE Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy" is a unique fundraising campaign designed to engage hotels, pubs, restaurants, caterers, and beyond. You’ll use your PR expertise to turn this beloved meatball idea into a symbol of hope, raising awareness and driving support for Muscular Dystrophy (MD) while elevating the charity’s brand.
Your impact will ripple three ways:
- Enhancing the charity’s PR strategy, shaping future fundraising initiatives.
- Strengthening the brand narrative, ensuring credibility and reach.
- Directly benefiting vulnerable individuals through MHF’s transformational Muscle Dream interventions.
What Will You Achieve?
Your work here will elevate the charity’s mission, align fundraising efforts with structural storytelling, and create emotional and tangible impact for those living with MD.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic PR professional with a passion for purpose-driven campaigns, ideally from hospitality, food, or corporate communications—but not strictly required.

Key Responsibilities
Your role blends creative storytelling, media relations, and data-driven strategy to position Meatballs4MD as an indispensable initiative that the hospitality industry can proudly endorse.
You’ll leverage existing assets—real people’s stories, authentic narratives, and grassroots colds—turning them into magnetic narratives capable of emotionally connecting diverse audiences.

Core Communication Skills
- Storytelling: Craft compelling, concise, and credible narratives tailored to target audiences—**hospitality brands, consumers, and media.
- Pitching & Media Relations: Build genuine journalist relationships and craft pitches that cut through clutter.
- SEO & Digital Optimization: Ensure search visibility (both traditional and AI/GEO optimised) for broader reach.
- Social Media Strategy: Engage audiences directly, monitor digital conversations, and partner with micro-influencers for authentic amplification.
Soft Skills & Resilience
- Crisis Management: proactively spot risks and ensure transparent, trust-building communication.
- Emotional Intelligence: Navigate stakeholder relationships with empathy, combating misinformation and building trust.
