Cannington College is seeking a passionate and skilled Practical Instructor to join our Agriculture team, delivering high-quality livestock practical sessions that inspire and equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in the agricultural industry.

Role Overview

As a Practical Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring students develop and demonstrate industry best practice in livestock handling, husbandry, and welfare. You will support learners in gaining the practical competencies required by their qualifications, while also nurturing their employability and progression potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the curriculum team and farm staff to ensure that practical learning is aligned with qualification requirements and curriculum priorities.
  • Help maximize opportunities for student-centered teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring that every session is purposeful, engaging, and reflective of real-world agricultural standards.
  • Ensure students gain meaningful, hands-on experience in key areas such as milking, feeding, and livestock husbandry.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
