Practice Consultant - Social Worker | 10819 | temporary contract/secondment

opportunity to cover maternity leave | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | Grade K | North Walsham

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Practice Consultant to join our Adults Cluster Team, supporting work with older people and adults with physical disabilities. This role sits at the heart of an exciting period of transformation within Adult Social Care, where we are redesigning how we work to create a more relational, flexible and community-connected service.

As a Practice Consultant, you will champion high-quality, strengths-based practice through a Human Learning Systems approach, helping practitioners move away from rigid processes and towards responsive, person-led decision-making. You will also play a key role in embedding Community-Led Support, ensuring teams work in partnership with local people, families, and community groups to enable earlier help, stronger independence, and better outcomes.

You will provide expert coaching, reflective practice, and professional guidance, supporting staff to develop confidence, curiosity, and professional judgement. Working closely with the Cluster Manager and wider partners, you will help shape culture, support continuous learning, and model the values and behaviours needed to deliver truly person-centred social care.

To build meaningful relationships with the people we support, this role requires regular in-person work in both the office and community.

If you are passionate about great practice, committed to innovation, and motivated by the opportunity to influence positive change during a key transformation period, we would love to hear from you.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full [Job Description and Person Specification](https://nccjoblibrary-buhfawbxbvb6brdj.a03.azurefd.net/10819_Practice Consultant - Social Worker JD_ASSD.docx) to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.

Please ensure you include a statement in your application to demonstrate why you feel you meet the person specification and job description for this post. CVs submitted without a supporting statement about this post will not be accepted.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
