Job Description: Sexual Health Nurse

The sexual health service in Suffolk is offered across three main clinics at Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft. The level three service offers prevention, screening and treatment and management of sexually transmitted infections, and the provision of contraception including long acting methods. The post holder will be instrumental in developing and maintaining an agile nursing workforce able to offer the full range of interventions to service users.

The post holder will work flexibly across all three clinical sites and others as required. A base clinic can be agreed with the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating and organising dual training programmes for nursing staff.
  • Reviewing existing processes and developing processes and protocols for the safe delivery of high quality sexual health care.
  • Representing the service internally and externally.
  • Supporting and developing training for internal and external colleagues.
