Practice Manager – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE Closing Date: 16th July 2026 (subject to change)

The Opportunity: Practice Manager (Avon Lodge Vets)
We’re seeking a proactive Practice Manager to lead the operational and administrative functions of our Wells Road and Bishopsworth practices in Bristol, working on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
What You’ll Do
You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Practice & Clinical Services, Head Nurse, and Head Receptionist to ensure:
- Smooth day-to-day practice operations
- Strong team performance
- Outstanding client experiences
- A positive, efficient workplace culture
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee non-clinical operations while supporting clinical teams.
- People Management:
- Payroll management
- Staff rotations, leave planning, and workforce scheduling
- Recruitment (ads, interviews, onboarding)
- Employee engagement, performance management
- Administrative Support:
- Stock management
- Reception team coordination
- Complaint handling and client feedback
- Compliance & Quality:
- Adherence to company policies (e.g., Health & Safety)
- Regulatory frameworks (e.g., RCVS accreditation)
- Monitoring KPIs and business goals
- Collaborative Ownership:
- Deliver practice objectives
- Maintain high standards

Hourly commitment: 40hrs/week (4 or 5 days); part-time considered.
Who You Are
You’ll thrive if you:
- Have proven management experience (preferably healthcare, veterinary, or customer-facing).
- Excel at people leadership, including performance development and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrate strong organisation skills to manage priorities under pressure.
- Handle complaints, change, and complex situations with resilience and poise.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders (clinical, staff, clients).
