Salary £46,142 to £51,356 plus Out of Hours Enhancements | Full time, permanent | 37 hours per week | Emergency Duty Team (EDT) | Accrington, Lancashire

About the Role

The Emergency Duty Team provides a countywide Out of Hours service, responding to statutory emergencies and urgent social care matters within both Children's and Adults' Services that cannot safely wait until the next working day.

As a Practice Manager, you will provide management oversight, guidance and support to social workers managing complex and sensitive situations. You will also, when required, undertake social work duties to support the delivery of a robust and effective emergency service.

The EDT is comprised of:

  • 1 Team Manager
  • 4 Practice Managers
  • 12 Social Workers
  • Customer Service Advisors (Call Takers)

The successful applicant will work a rolling rota covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Appropriate Out of Hours enhancements are paid in accordance with hours worked outside of core business hours.

Due to the nature of the service, flexibility is essential, including providing management cover for sickness and other service needs where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
