We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Manager to join our friendly and experienced team at Medivet Dorchester 24 Hour, ready to lead a team of clinical and non-clinical colleagues to provide excellent client service.

As a recently refurbished, multi-disciplinary hospital located just a short drive from the stunning Jurassic Coast, based in the county town of Dorchester, we service many of the surrounding practices for their emergency work both overnight and on weekends. The role will be an initial 6-month Fixed Term Contract, with the option to extend into a full-time role should the Practice require it.

Dorchester 24 Hour has a strong regional presence, providing the out-of-hours care for five Medivet branches and seven non-Medivet practices which gives scope for a wide range of clinical cases. You will be working within a highly skilled and supportive team, which includes certificate holders in cardiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency and critical care. This creates an excellent environment for the development of a caring and committed team to provide all-round care for our patients, while delivering outstanding customer service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
