About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join a busy and supportive GP Practice in Northampton.
Whether you are an experienced Practice Nurse or a Registered Nurse looking to develop your career within Primary Care, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for candidates looking to expand their clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care within a GP Practice setting
- Undertake chronic disease management clinics, including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, and Hypertension
- Administer vaccinations, immunisations, and injectable medications
- Perform cervical cytology and support family planning and contraception services
- Provide wound care, dressings, and post-operative care
- Support minor surgery clinics alongside GPs
- Undertake patient assessments, triage, and follow-up care
- Promote health education, lifestyle advice, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary primary care team
- Contribute to quality improvement and service development initiatives

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Willingness to undertake further training and professional development

Desirable
- Previous experience working within General Practice or Primary Care
- Experience managing long-term conditions
- Cervical Cytology qualification
- Immunisation and vaccination experience
- Family planning and contraception experience
- Experience using SystmOne
