We need a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist who’s passionate about helping people with a range of complex mental health needs.
You will be joining our team on a part time, 20hrs per week basis.

Cygnet Appletree, near Durham, is a mental health hospital for women that includes Pippin Ward, a specialist PICU service and Bramley Ward, an intensive support service for women with a personality disorder and complex mental health needs.

Your day-to-day…
- Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
- Work systemically with staff, as well as directly with service users
- Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group
- Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team
- Support the clinical, nursing & direct care teams in making skilled evaluations & decisions about risk
- Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is…
- An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group
- Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles
- Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT
- Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
- Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems
- An excellent communicator.
