B7 Practitioner Psychologist

We are delighted to be recruiting to a 0.4 wte B7 Practitioner Psychologist in the Paediatric Psychology Service at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. This is a temporary post funded for 6 months due to secondment cover within the team. This post, based within our Children’s Allergy Service is an exciting and varied role providing a wide range of experiences and opportunities.

We are looking for a motivated psychologist with an interest in working with children, young people and families with complex health conditions experiencing associated psychological distress or difficulties, as well as in working with professional colleagues in a collaborative manner to provide high quality holistic care.

The post will be based within the Children’s Allergy Service offering a wide range of opportunities and varied ways of working.

The Paediatric Allergy Psychology Team provides psychological support to young people and families accessing the Children’s Allergy Service. We aim to consider all of the child’s allergies together, considering their impact and potential treatment on the physical and emotional wellbeing of each child and family. The psychologist will be based within a small team of other psychologists across different grades.

The role requires outpatient working and may involve inpatient working. Direct clinical input to young people and families, group work, MDT working, team liaison, and staff consultation are all fundamental elements of the work offered by the Children’s Allergy Service.

The post sits within Paediatric Psychology Services, which offers good opportunities for collaborative working, audit, research, teaching and training. We meet regularly as a team to explore clinical dilemmas and share new learnings and developments. Supervision will be provided by an experienced Psychologist within the team. Additional opportunities include but do not stop with; journal club, reflective practice groups, and peer supervision as well as SIG networks nationally. Service relevant CPD is actively encouraged.
