Full-Time, Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist Post – Co-occurring Mental Health and Addictions Rehabilitation Team (COMHART)
About the Role
We are pleased to advertise this full-time, Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist position within the Co-occurring Mental Health and Addictions Rehabilitation Team (COMHART). This critical role offers the opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative team, working with individuals facing severe and enduring mental health problems, particularly those experiencing psychosis-spectrum disorders alongside co-occurring substance use.
As part of your responsibilities, you will engage in 1:1 and group interventions, support carers and family members, and contribute to staff training and consultation across 6 rehabilitation sites within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychosocial assessments for patients admitted to mental health inpatient rehabilitation units across the SLP footprint.
- Provide 1:1 psychological interventions, including support for carers and family members.
- Lead the development of carer and family support programmes within the team.
- Offer daily clinical supervision and supportive guidance to Band 5 Higher Assistant Psychologists embedded within the SLP units.
- Deliver training and consultations to rehabilitation staff across the rehabilitation sites.
- Actively participate in service development, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in patient care.
