Pre-Construction Manager

Role Details

  • Position: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: London, hybrid working (3 days in office/site)
  • Travel required for client meetings on and off-site

We’re currently seeking to boost our fast-growing Construction division in London. This role will work closely with the Director of our Construction Advisory team, playing a key role in expanding one of our newest and most dynamic business units.

The Opportunity

In this pre-construction advisory team, we provide strategic construction expertise for projects at their early stages—where our advice has the most impact. Our support helps clients mitigate risks, identify constraints, and optimise drivers before projects reach site, ensuring successful programmes, cost efficiency, and better overall outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide feasibility and planning advice, assessing key buildability, logistics, methodologies, and design aspects.
  • Support clients in making informed decisions to shape cost-effective, well-planned projects.
  • Work directly with clients to drive project efficiency from the concept phase onward.
  • Collaborate on delivery strategies and identify risk mitigation strategies throughout early-stage development.

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience transitioning from principal contractor or technical role in pre-construction to a consultancy environment
  • Essential skills: Strong background in Planning/Programming
  • Bonus: Versatility in handling a variety of projects
  • Client-facing communication skills with an ability to build influence in pre-construction activities
  • Industry-recognised construction-related qualifications
  • Desire to pursue or progress toward Chartered status (with support from CPC)
