Pre Construction Manager

Role Description The Pre Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based near Royston, responsible for managing all activities leading up to project commencement. This includes coordinating design development, preparing and reviewing estimates, overseeing cost plans, and ensuring budgets are aligned with client and business objectives. The role involves leading the pre-construction process, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and producing high-quality proposals and tender submissions. The Pre Construction Manager will monitor risks and opportunities, support value engineering, and maintain accurate documentation to enable smooth handover to the delivery team. The position requires proactive communication, effective stakeholder management, and strong commercial awareness within the construction environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating and Cost Management skills to prepare accurate cost plans, forecasts, and tender submissions. Candidates should possess Design Management capabilities to coordinate design information, support value engineering, and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Candidates should possess Proposal Writing and Budgeting skills to develop compelling bids, manage project budgets, and present clear commercial justifications. Relevant experience in pre-construction or project management within the construction sector, ideally with exposure to construction products or materials. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Proficiency with construction-related software (e.g., estimating tools, project management platforms) and standard office applications. A relevant qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial.
