About the Role
Since 2016, Harmony Fire has grown into one of the UK’s leading life safety contractors, specialising in passive fire protection, building fabric, and M&E works across residential, social housing, commercial, and public sector markets.
Holders of a Two Star Outstanding Company to Work For accreditation from Best Companies, the business is firmly on the move and urgently seeks A-players to help drive its continued success. The mission centres around a simple, fundamental goal:
"Every resident should be able to sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% compliant and protected."
The company now offers multiple Pre-Construction Manager roles in its expanding West Midlands pod, where successful candidates will own passive fire protection projects end-to-end—from initial scope development through to completion and handover into delivery. This is not merely a conventional delivery role; it’s about committing to a higher purpose: saving lives through fire and height safety.

- Develop project scopes that are accurate, compliant, commercially viable, and executable by the delivery team—free of ambiguity.
Commercial & Strategic
- Prepare and verify pricing, scope breakdowns, and commercial positioning for projects within approved authority—Issue exceptions to the Pre-Construction Director with clearjustifications and recommendations.
- Act as the primary client liaison, leading structured pre-construction review meetings (Pre-Con Calls) to capture all decisions and agreed matters in writing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
