The Pharmacy Department are looking to recruit Apprentice Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians.
Pharmacy Technicians are vital members of today's healthcare team and contribute greatly in the supply of medicines and products to patients.
The training opportunity is an advanced apprenticeship, which involves on the job training whilst you study to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
On completion of the apprenticeship programme and End Point Assessment (EPA), successful candidates will be able to apply for registration to practice as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Training and support will be provided by work based assessors and the training provider.
Requirements
GCSEs: Maths C, English and Science (at C or above) and 3 other subjects at a minimum of grade C.
Or
- Pharmacy Services QCF Level 2 or equivalent
- 12 months current experience
- Holds a functional skills level 2 qualification in Maths and English (equivalent to C grade or 4)

Job Details
This is a 2 year fixed term full time contract Monday to Friday, successful candidates will be expected to participate in weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Salary:
- Year 1: 70% of top scale of Band 4
- Year 2: 75% of top scale of Band 4
New for 2024, NHS Agenda for Change Annex 30 section means existing NHS employees will not suffer detriment to their basic pay when they undertake apprenticeships as part of agreed career development.
