Pre-Sales Solution Architect

Pre-Sales Solutions Architect (Communications)

Role Purpose

The Pre Sales Solutions Architect acts as the technical consultant for new and existing communications customers, translating customer requirements into robust, scalable solutions aligned to Redcentric’s communications portfolio.

The role supports the sales teams by ensuring proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with customer outcomes, providing trusted expertise across:

  • Unified Communications
  • Teams Telephony
  • Contact Centre
  • Value-added services

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Engagement

  • Act as the primary technical consultant during the pre-sales phase for communications opportunities.
  • Participate in customer workshops, discovery sessions, and technical qualification activities.
  • Provide technical input into proposals, bids, and RFP/RFI responses.
  • Support and deliver proofs of concept (PoC) and pilot solutions to validate proposed architectures.
  • Deliver product demonstrations tailored to customer requirements and use cases.
  • Produce high-level solution designs (HLDs) and contribute to technical schedules within proposals and contracts.

Solutions & Portfolio Knowledge

  • Demonstrate strong expertise in:
    • Microsoft Teams Telephony (including Direct Routing and Operator Connect architectures).
    • Microsoft best practices for Teams Telephony, governance, and supporting policies.
  • Design:
    • Numbering plans
    • Call routing
    • Resilience and failover strategies
  • Support integration with existing telephony platforms and customer migration strategies.
  • Design contact centre and advanced call handling solutions, including:
    • Cloud CCaaS platforms integrated with Teams
    • Considerations for Teams Voice Apps and third-party contact centre solutions.
  • Provide guidance on:
    • Call recording and compliance services (network-based and application-based).
    • Integration with Teams and contact centre platforms.
  • Advise on analytics and reporting, including:
    • Native Teams reporting
    • Third-party analytics platforms.
  • Apply portfolio awareness to select appropriate service combinations based on:
    • Customer outcomes
    • Budgets
    • Risk profiles
  • Ensure all proposed solutions are:
    • Technically viable
    • Commercially aligned
    • Supportable by delivery and operations teams

Technical Authority

  • Lead technical aspects of customer workshops and discovery sessions.
  • Provide authoritative technical input into:
    • Bids
    • Proposals
    • RFP/RFI responses
  • Deliver and coordinate proofs-of-concept and pilot activities.
  • Conduct product demonstrations aligned to customer requirements.
  • Own the production of high-level solution designs (HLDs) and pre-sales technical documentation.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with:
    • Sales
    • Product
    • Delivery
    • Operations teams
  • To ensure a smooth transition from design to implementation.
  • Provide technical consultation and support to delivery teams throughout:
    • Handover
    • Early lifecycle stages
  • Maintain accurate pre-sales documentation, including:
    • HLDs
    • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
    • Supporting technical artefacts for:
      • Billing
      • Licensing
      • Change management

Commercial Awareness

    • Deep technical solution expertise in a comparable pre-sales role.
  • Relevant:
    • Product certifications
    • Engineering credentials
    • Equivalent practical technical experience
