CBCS Counsellor - Preceptorship Opportunity
Are you currently working towards your full accreditation or would you be committed to working towards achieving full accreditation within the next 12 months, if so we are delighted to share this existing preceptorship opportunity with you.
Under the direct line management and clinical supervision of a qualified and accredited practitioner, the Counsellor will provide time‑limited counselling interventions and co‑facilitate structured psychoeducational groups for adults and children within community‑based services. Upon successful completion of the preceptorship programme and achievement of relevant professional accreditation, the role will align to a fully accredited Counsellor position.
🧠 What You’ll Bring To be shortlisted, you’ll need: ✅ A Professional Diploma in Counselling covering psycho-dynamic, CBT and humanistic models of intervention or a person-centred approach AND Committed to working towards achieving full accreditation within one calendar year of taking up post ✅ A minimum of 300 supervised post-qualification hours (either paid or voluntary) providing counselling or structured emotional support. ✅ Ability to understand and apply core principles of CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) within a supervised therapeutic setting. ✅ Experience or demonstrable understanding of non-abstinence, recovery-oriented approaches to substance misuse and self-harming behaviours. ✅ A full current driving licence and access to a car (or reasonable adjustments where applicable) ✅ Flexibility to work across various locations.

💚 What You'll Receive 💷 Salary: *£29,250.94 - £31,328.99 (Higher than the current NHS Band 4 equivalent) *Upon receiving full accreditation you will move onto the following salary £32,708 – £37,964.53 (Higher than the current NHS Band 5 equivalent)
